How would I go about adding Flight1 GNS 530/430 to Carenado/Alabeo Planes

Featured Replies

With this release these http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1gns those of us who fly planes in P3D that can't fit a 750 in the panel can now enjoy a fully functioning 530 or 430,the issue is how do you install them into the VC? Can you use the RXP installer then just change the gauge in the panel.CFG to the flight1 product?

Hi David,

In fact, it's even simpler than that... :wink: After using Carenado's RXP installer, just run the F1GNSConfig, and it will scan all installed planes and give you the option to replace RXP by pressing a single button (separately for each RXP-enabled plane).

Question what about the planes that have no RXP integration but have a GNS530? ie the F33 or V35? Thanks David

Then you still have to do that the old way, i.e. using panel.cfg edits, but gauge sizes should be similar.

THB, I've never experimented much with retrofitting RXP/F1 gauges into older panels, so you may need to wait for Bert to chime in with more info... :wink:

EDIT: Since the F1 config tool scans panel files for existing RXP entries, it is entirely possible that it will pick up manually edited configurations as well and allow you to replace the gauges automatically, but I don't have any manual edits to test with...

I just picked up the 430 by flight 1 and would like to use it for my baron and f33 where do you get these installers I can't seem to find it ? I have fsx-se

I'm afraid the B58 and F33 are older planes without RealityXP support in the VC, so they may require manual panel.cfg edits, and the existing 3D knobs may get in the way. Unfortunately, I'm no expert at that, so I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in... Bert, are you there? :wink:

I do not have the 430 by Flight 1. Both the F33A Bonanza and the B58 Baron were produced before Carenado started including the gauges in the model. You can just swap them out.

Here ids the mod for the F33A Bonanza using the Flight 1 GTN 650. Just change the gauge name to the 430.

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Vcockpit04]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=768,768
texture=$Panel_bon_4

gauge00=F1GTN!GTN650,  6,125,500,266,UNIT1.VC
gauge01=BonF33!vs,  262,394,236,106
gauge02=BonF33!Autopilot,  2,70,262,56
gauge03=BonF33!DME_screen,  3,396,256,100
gauge04=BonF33!Panel_annuanciator,  266,37,243,90
gauge05=BonF33!Auto_taxi_onoff,  0,0,275,169

Here is the Baron
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Vcockpit03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$Panel_baron_3

gauge00=F1GTN!GTN650,  172,68,337,179,UNIT1.VC
gauge01=F1GTN!GTN650,  172,248,337,179,UNIT2.VC
gauge02=BT58!Auto_taxi_onoff,  3,170,30,24
gauge03=BT58!Bus_Volts,  341,1,168,66
gauge04=BT58!transponder,  172,428,332,82
gauge05=BT58!annunciator_test,  115,171,53,53
gauge06=BT58!Trim,  114,226,54,124
gauge07=BT58!Flap_lights,  87,266,23,81
gauge08=BT58!GEM6,  9,353,159,156
gauge09=BT58!Toggle_Gps,  247,92,189,112
gauge10=BB581!fuelflow,  4,4,163,162
gauge11=BB583!AirSp,  4,199,28,22
gauge12=BT58!Turn_light,  80,170,30,30

I would suggest you then run the Flight 1 configuration tool to create the pop ups.

The 3D knobs will be in the way but you can turn them off in Carenado control pop-up.

Hope this helps,

Greg
