September 26, 20169 yr Hi all, I'm looking for a projector to use with the cockpit I'm building. By the way this is with FSX. My system is Windows 7, i7 4790 CPU and a hi end nvidia graphics card. I don't want to spend more than $900. I would like a 1080p. What would suggest? Thanks, Gerry
September 27, 20169 yr I am talking from experience and the truth is one projector will not satisfy your needs in the long run. Sure, you can start with one, but the truth is that you need a bigger fields of vision of at least 160 degrees that means three projectors, eventually.... People in the home builder community like the Optima projectors for example the 'Optima X316ST' about $849 on amazon. They key feature to look at is the 'short-throw'. That means you can go close enough to the screen, because your cockpit is basically in the way for a conventional projector. I highly recommend the cockpitbuilders.com forum and that you to some more research on this. You might also need a software to correct the projector's output, if you have a curved screen. Hope this helps! Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
