Process Monitor Question

Recommended Posts

I received a 'low on resources' message during the last two attempts at the Majestic Q400 tutorial flight.

Today I tried the tutorial using the Virtualcol Dash8, a less graphically and memory intensive aircraft and the flight went fine.

During the flight I ran Process Monitor to see if I could pick up on any issues.  It all looked pretty normal, but I noticed that the Orbx Monument Valley scenery kept popping up in the monitor even though I was near the Great Lakes area of Canada.

Is this because Monument Valley contains photoscenery?

Thanks,

Ernie

No.  Everything in the Scenery/World/Scenery loads and Orbx has a lot of files there.  I have found all of their Autogen loads too.  When I was using Process Monitor to try to find the cause of my freezes, I saw many Orbx files loading.  You should be able to disable the Orbx scenery via the Scenery Library with the FTX Central 3.  Before, you could only disable it via FTX Central or else it could get all messed up and corrupted.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks Jim,

You're correct, there is a bunch of Orbx stuff, but I'm down to the basics (Global, OpenLC, Vector), so can't do much to change that.

I am removing Monument Valley since I very seldom fly in that area.

You also answered why I'm getting stuff from FlightBeam KSFO, FSDT DFW, etc. loading..

ACES sure didn't give a lot of thought to potential VAS issues. :-)

Be careful disabling FSDT/FlightBeam stuff. I personally did not see that stuff loading during my flight over Illinois/Missouri but did see some of it loading in P3D. You could have Couatl issues when trying to enable it all again. I really do not think it is worthwhile disabling any FSDT stuff.  But, if you rarely use it, then it might be a good option.

Best regards,

Jim
