IFR question

Featured Replies

Lets say, I have filed a IFR flight plan from Chicago to Pittsburgh. About 1/2 way there, I change my mind and want to go to Cleveland. I want to know if this is possible within FS9? When I try to do this, it seems as if FS9 wants me to pick a new starting airport. I do not want to do this, I want to change my plan while in the air. I want ATC to understand my request and give me new routing. Hope you can understand my question. Thanks,Jim

Create the new flightplan. When asked if you want to relocate to the start airport, say no. You can fly the new flightplan from your current location.Allcott

>Create the new flightplan. When asked if you want to relocate>to the start airport, say no. You can fly the new flightplan>from your current location.Exactly as Allcott stated. I do this all the time. When I am enroute and decide to go somewhere else I open the ATC window and select a new destination. Enter your start location that you already came from, but enter the new destination. When asked to start from location, click "no". One key to this is to have a navaid close by to give yourself a starting point. Unless you are flying via GPS. I don't use the GPS a lot. I would rather keep it old school (VOR, NDB, Intersections). :DKevin

Thanks. I simply missed the idea that you can respond "NO" to restarting at an airport! It seems as if every day I learn something new about this simulator (and the new addons).Jim,
