Need Help - Cockpit Wind Sound

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I thought there was a sound forum here but I cannot find one. If someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

I'm trying to add sound parameters in my Sound.cfg file which will accomplish:

- Very low wind noise below 250 knots

- Increase dramatically as you accelerate past 250 knots with the sound maxing out at 350 knots+

Just flew to Germany over our (US) Thanksgiving holiday and really paid attention to the slipstream noise. It was very quiet below 10,000 feet. You could hear it but it was quite low. Then as we cleared 10,000 and accelerated the noise increased dramatically. Aircraft was a B767-400.

I realize this is inappropriate to post this in this forum but again I could not find a "sound" forum.

Many thanks in advance,

Mitch

Take a look to the sound.cfg of your airplane.

[WIND_SOUND]
filename=c5wind3
minimum_volume=7800
maximum_volume=9000
minimum_rate=1.0
maximum_rate=1.0
minimum_speed=0
maximum_speed=0

Default 737.

The volume is 10000 for max volume, if still to low then open with audacity (free) for example and amplify the volume.

The rate is the pitch of the wav being played, 0.8 tot 1.0 is often nicer

Speed is the plane TAS I believe, set at 80 minimum to 300 ktas max will slowly build the volume up with speed.
