Yeah ok thanks Mickeyj that probably makes more sense...do u think that you would see an impact between the 1070 and 1080? . I'm running a I7-4790k?

Hmmm i am not much of an harware guru here so i cant answer your question. Im running an i7 5820k@ 4.5 GHz 16GB RAM on an ASUS Rampage xtreme V. The GPU is an ASUS Strix Advanced.

 

I asume if the chipset on a 1070 is the same like the 1080 despite the 2GB vram more than yes you would notice a difference. But as usual every system is different so milage will vary.
