December 2, 200520 yr Hi allI read somewhere that if you take a file form the main flightsim folder, rename it or do something to it (not sure), windows xp will allocate all resources to make flightsim run better Does anyone know where I can find this info Cheers Rhys
December 2, 200520 yr Could be FS9.cfg file - do a search in this forum and see if it is what u want.:D
December 2, 200520 yr By far, the better way to change the running priority of FS9 is to do it through Task Manager. Doing so will prevent the problems associated with having to change the FS9.exe properties everytime you want to do a priority change and will let you change the priority higher or lower while FS9 is actually running. To run Task Manager either right click on the task bar and select it from the menu or press CTRL+ALT+DEL. Then select the Processes tab, click on User Name twice to sort your running tasks to the top of the list, right-click on the FS9.exe line, click on Set Priority, and then choose the priority. (I would avoid setting the priority to Realtime as that may well cause all kinds of unwanted things to happen.) Does increasing the priority help? My experience on three machines has been no, but all mileage is, of course, variable.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. December 2, 200520 yr Have a look at Autostart by Ken Salter "Avsim forum moderator - software writer extrodinaire"
December 2, 200520 yr FS Autostart, Autostart, Startauto, by any name it is the best! One tip: Run it a couple of times in a row. It can improve on its first pass, especially the memory defrag. After a couple of times in a row it reaches an asympotote and further runs are not efficient or worth the effort.
