December 14, 20169 yr Folks, I had a JoinFS multiplayer session on Sunday with Ralf and Roger and experienced problems trying to get model matching working properly with the C-47 he was flying. When I tried to find the correct livery it was not listed as variation under the aircraft type. In fact many of my C-47 v3 liveries were not listed. What I discovered when I took a look at the aircraft config was that the UI variation was not unique on many of the entries. Two lines seem to be critical for the model matching: ui_type="C-47R Skytrain" ---> JoinFS Type ui_variation="V3.12 Beta" ----> JoinFS Variation Most of the aircraft entries in my aircraft.cfg duplicated the second line: ui_variation="V3.12 Beta" After I edited this line to specify a particular aircraft: ui_variation="USAF 50940" the variation showed up as a selectable match in the JoinFS substitution section. | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |
December 14, 20169 yr Great catch, Jeff.Do you conclude that JoinFS keys on ui_type=xxx and ui_variation=yyy as the matching criteria? If so, then we might consider revising our multiplayer spreadsheet information columns. --Mike MacKuen
December 14, 20169 yr Howzat? (cricketing term) Great catch Jeff. You ain't as dumb as you look. EDIT: I've just trawled through my collection and can proudly boast that all of my paints have the appropriate ui_variation. B) There were one or two wayward entries though. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
