Advice on ActiveSky

Recommended Posts

May I please ask your advice on ActiveSky please. I have the full suite of REX products and wonder whether ActiveSky would further enhance the weather or am I duplicating?

Any advice gratefully received.

George.

well, the engine is a lot more sophisticated than the rex one, no abrupt wind shifts, newer features like visibility reduction in clouds, wind shear events, etc.

they have a free trial version so i would suggest trying it for yourself! :)

as far as the textures go, ASCA is somewhat duplicating what you get from REX already, as it is a bunch more cloud/sky textures. however, i prefer them over rex because of the dynamics mode that gives a lot more variety, instead of using one set it picks from many, and you can add your own sky sets and i think eventually clouds will be supported also. unfortunately there is no demo for ASCA. but AS2016 works very well with rex textures so you can get a good idea just from the demo of that.

good luck!

cheers
