December 8, 200520 yr For those who haven't heard about it yet, Burkhard Renk has released his new MyTraffic 2006 package and it contains a feature that is quite unique. The program operates very similarly to his earlier versions but this time you have the ability to use it as a "Time Machine" and generate an entire world full of traffic as it was in a paricular year. It's a brilliant concept for those who like to fly older aircraft and would like to have matching AI around them.I have just bought my copy and I can confirm that, believe-it-or-not, it actually works - and brilliantly too.Of course, if you're into AI (like I am), there is still a lot of work ahead of you to replace the some of the supplied aircraft with your own preferred downloads. You can import a lot (but by definition of Retro-AI, not all) of your own customizations of earlier versions of MyTraffic as well.I forsee a lot of repaints appearing on AVSIM for AI models of early passenger jets and Turboprops as a direct result of this program. Here's a link to the Mytraffic Website:http://mytraffic2004.com/version4/If you are upgrading, then before installing, check out the mytraffic support forum as well. There is stuff there you want to know before you upgrade.I have no connection to Burkhard Renk so here's an unbiassed thumbs-up. This add-on is great!GreetingsDave Britzius(Cape Town)
December 8, 200520 yr Thanks for posting this Dave,I got invited to beta test by Burkhard and really feel like I did very little cause the product was already worked out pretty good. I had read about the idea of doing time sensitive AI some years ago and there have been some free projects out there that do some similar things. But never to the scope of this product and ease of changing between time eras. Now I can easily switch eras and see aircraft like I recall seeing as a kid... talk about nostalgia. Once again MyTraffic has exceeded my expectations, they've done it since their first week of business.Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
