MFC80.dll and permissions error at the same time

Featured Replies

When I try to launch fsx, I get these errors. I have googled fixes and (of course as is my luck) they have not worked. I refuse ti reinstall fsx again as I just did so 2 weeks ago. Help would be appreciated. Thanks! (Rightclick on the images and hit open in new tab)

I'm sick of dealing with these problems arising all the time. If it's not one thing it's the other. Would fsx steam edition fix most of my issues?

Glad you were able to find a solution.  The AVSIM CTD Guide has many suggestions for fixing issues with FSX.

You indicate to me you were very upset with your situation.   I know it is frustrating when you get a crash and nothing seems to work to fix it.  However, respectfully, you need to provide more details regarding any crash.  The image you tried to post did not show up in your topic.  You now have to host your images on an image hosting website.  The following link provides some guidance - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

An AppCrashView report or Event Viewer report would have helped too as suggested in the AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature).

The MFC80.dll belongs to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 w/SP1.  It is used by Microsoft to make sure FSX/Acceleration is installed properly and that it runs properly after installation.  It's just very difficult to troubleshoot "mfc80dll and permissions error at the same time".  We need more information.  Fortunately you were able to find the fix but have a feeling you will be getting more crashes.

Happy New Year!
