Hi folks,I've tried a couple of Alphasim A/Cs earlier, and I was not impressed at all. Now the F8 got 4 stars here at Avsim.I bought a Saab Wiggen from Alphasim, and I never use it. The cockpit (both 2d and vc) just don't give the right feeling, with bitmaps instead of real gauges here and there, and a very flat look.But I wish the F8 really deserves those 4 stars. It looks tempting with a fighter that runs smooth, the external model looks nice, and Alphasim makes good airfiles according to what I've heard.So, have anyone else tried it? Are the vc gauges smooth? Is the vc better than average Alphasim products? Should I buy it?Eagle

I don't have the Viggen, but do have quite a lot of Alphasim aircraft. I'd say that their Phantom and F-8 VCs are better than the usual collection.Does it deserve 4 stars? Hmm. I don't see anything that breaks the 3 - 3.5 stars bracket for me, but at the price I'm certainly not complaining.If you're after a Cloud9 Starfighter or "military PMDG" equivalent, you're not going to get it from Alphasim. If you're after a jet that is fun to fly, with a usable panel and VC but nothign dramatically fantastic, you'll be happy.Cheers,Ian P.

Thanx!Just as I thought then. I've just upgraded my rig, and it puts me down when fluidity vanishes with the complicated A/Cs. Especially in a jet fighter where thing go fast, so maybe the F8 could be fun on the new machine.Could you do me a favour: Count the number of vc windows in the panel.cfg file. Besides Captain Sim and Cloud 9, I've been looking for military jet aircraft that meet that standard, oh there is one more, some company had made the "tweet" which appeared to be fully featrured.Jeff
