GNS530 not installing it self in x-plane 11

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just purchased GNS530 v2 installed it into x-plane 11, but not plugins folder was created in x-plane 11 and nothing is happening in the simulator.

the plugin does install it self into my x-plane 10 folder, then I can copy the plugin iunto my x-plane 11 and I get my GNS530

please can you check your installation file and tell us what to do, is there any differences in the plugin bertween the versions ?

thanks

ian

Hi Ian,

can you confirm you have selected the 'X-Plane 11' option and not the 'X-Plane 10' option in the installer? Also, prior copying the files to the right places, the installer prompts you with a 'check list' of things it will do. Can you cross check the check list items match what you've told the installer to do?

Besides, the plugin is the same across all X-Plane versions. It takes care to dynamically adjust to the host simulator when running.

It is copied as 'resources/plugin/rxpGNS/32/win.xpl' and 'rxpGNS/64/win.xpl' for XP11/10, and copied as a file 'resources/plugin/rxpGNS2.xpl' for XP9.

If the installer doesn't report any error during installation, this means it succeeded copying the files somewhere.

The 'check list' is supposed to display the path the plugin will install into, like this (example for XP10):

Selected components:
Product Files and Plugin for X-Plane 10
      Product Documentation

XPlane 10 location:
      C:\X-Plane 10

Destination location:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\X-Plane

Additional tasks:
      Display the User's Guide (pdf)
Enable automatic updates (when running, the product will check for updates)

Garmin GNS Trainer Lite is already installed

The entries in bold are the one to look to confirm correct options and path are selected for the plugin files.
