December 18, 200520 yr Bychance has anyone been encountering issues with the default real world weather downloads from Jeppeson? Mine gets to about 4 percent then locks my computer so tight I have to CTRL ALT DLT to kill the sim process.

December 18, 200520 yr Yes! I noticed it yesterday. Went back a ways and did a some system restores to check and see if any recently installed progrms caused any issues - no dice. There's definitely a problem somewhere. Are you running Norton?
December 18, 200520 yr Hi peeps,Just done a complete reinstall of FS2004 due to encountering numerous problems with the sim. Finally got it reinstalled, went to do a short test flight and it appears now i cant download real world weather. The egg timer stays on for ages and then i get a message telling me to check my internet connection, which i know is fine.Could you possibly suggest what i can do next? Was just about to post this message in here until i noticed this thread, seems its not just me thats having problems.

Seeing your signature made me remember something I had installed a LOOONG time ago but never reinstalled with my latest hard drive install, and thus I FORGOT that I had it!!!!I actually had a copy of AS2k4 and the upgrade to 2004.5 backed up on a CD here from ages ago. I reinstalled it and forgot how much BETTER than the default the weather was. Stack that with the registered FSUIPC's limiting to weather transitioning and it made for one of the best flights in a while.FYI I also own Flight Environment from Flight1 software, and this was my first ever trying AS2004.5 with it. Stacked, it made for one helluva experience! Not bothering with the default fix, though i did copy that thread you linked to a notepad file just in case . . .
December 18, 200520 yr To answer the Norton question, I do not -- I stay as far away from Norton and McAffee as I possibly can!I use EZTrust software for antivirus and antispyware stuff, but I have it totally deactivated in this case. I even uninstalled it then trid DLing and it didnt help. So reinstalled the AV and ASW to keep machine safe nontheless.FYI - Activesky has no issues DLign weather though. Still can't believe I had this and literally forgot I had it. That's what I get for running a review site -- so many add-ons I forget what I am doing. In fact I am adding Activesky to my list of reviews :-)
December 18, 200520 yr Ah . . .and from the other thread, someone (MD83) replied:"Yes, I can't download Real Weather It happens once or twice a year, and I'm sure it will be back"Hope thatis the case here as well for those of us having the issue.

December 19, 200520 yr Iwas really concened last night, as I couldn't download "Real World Weather" and it caused FS9 to hang. I hate flying without RWW. I hope MS resolves the issue soon.

By the way, I just looked at your web site. Looks like v6 is going to be exciting :-) GL on the project.Bear in mind I am no professional reviewer. I am but a simple commoner and I run my site from the consumer's point of view and speak openly and bluntly about what I review. So I guess do not expect an AVSIM level review LOL.
