Good FREEWARE Boeing 707?

Featured Replies

Good day all,I fly mostly GA but want to start getting into something bigger and faster. After spending a lot of money on payware GA I find myself a little light in the wallet for money for payware 707. Can somebody point me in the direction (if one exists) to a good FREEWARE Boeing 707, preferably with a panel to match. Thanks for all the replys in advance.

HJG has a great visual model--I haven't looked for panels however although I imagine there's some decent ones here in the library. HJG's visual model does not have a VC however--only dynamic wing views. Here's a link to their site:http://www.simufly.com/hjg/Regards,John

I don't have the link handy, but I think the Historic Jetliners Group has some freeware 707s with panels. I know they have an excellent full series of DC-8s, from the -11 up through the re-engined -70 series.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

HJG for sure. Then grab yourself Richard Probst's freeware 707 panel; or others by Chris Alevritis, Helio Estrela and other designers.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

I was also going to mention Richard Probst's 707 panel. It is an outstanding work of art. Hey Mark, have you had any problems with Probst's panel in FS9?

Haven't flown it enough to notice any yet, Rightseat, I confess; I'm into the Captain Sim 'plane at present. It has been updated for FS9, as I understand, so should be fine. Will test again later when I can and post if any hiccups.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

HJG is great, visually and FDE wide too. I have their 707s and have tweaked the cfg files slightly and it flies on the numbers. The Chris Alevritis panel is excellent--full of atmosphere. But an equally good panel, maybe clearer and better in some respects, is the ancient 707 panel by Paul Golding that he designed for FS2000 (I believe it was that edition)--it still works in Fs2004. I reinstalled it recently at Paul's suggestion and am amazed that it works and works fabulously. You can find it in the AVSIM library and it's called pg7072k2.zipJS
