Virtual Cockpit in Blender

Featured Replies

Alright, so I realized I started the brother of this topic in the wrong section, so I'm just starting a new one here. Basically, I want to know how to develop a virtual cockpit in blender from the ground up. I know how to model and have already begun doing so, I just don't know how to a.) develop gauges, b.) animate control surfaces (throttles, yoke, switches, etc.), and c.) port it over into FSX. Could anyone help me?

At the moment I'm attempting a 737-200 VC - Here's where I am at the moment, obviously nowhere near finished - but still a start nonetheless:

Ha! I'd just moved your post from the FSX forum, only to find you'd realized your faux-pas and created a new thread here...

What you are asking about is a very complex series of questions with no simple answers. There is a tremendous amount of material to be learned.

Honestly, you will likely find a much greater opportunity for help in such specialized topics at FS Developer, which is without question THE "how to place" for 3d modeling, texturing, gauge creation, exporting/compiling of models, et cetera.

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/

There are many folks there who have all the answers, and the subject matter is covered in dedicated forums.

BTW, it looks as though you've made a good start with the 3d modeling already! Keep it up. :hi:
