February 23, 20179 yr Author Visit the Painting FAQ`s on this paintersforum. There is information about tutorials and tools. Have a look at question 15 and 2. Download DXTBmp ( not forget the DLL set available on the same site ) Im still getting the same line using DXTbmp. I was using a nvidia PS pluging that does the same thing. Its only on engine 2 and 4. Engines 1 and 3 are fine. Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. February 23, 20179 yr Commercial Member That looks like a spec problem. You might want to bring up the norm and the spec and compare them. February 23, 20179 yr Author That looks like a spec problem. You might want to bring up the norm and the spec and compare them. What do you mean Paul? Or how is that done? February 23, 20179 yr Commercial Member Use DXTBmp to open the normal sheet (PMDG_747X_engines) and send it to your paint program. Do the same for the spec (PMDG_747X_engines_spec). The spec will open in a different paint program window so copy/paste that texture into the first paint program window so both norm and spec are side by side then compare. Another good way to compare is to layer the spec on top of the norm and use layer properties to adjust the transparency of the top layer so norm just shows through the spec,,then look for a problem in the area you see the stripe. It has to be in the norm or the spec, no other place, so one of those has a stripe that should not be there. The alpha will be plain white so it will not influence the other two textures in this way. Remember if you fix the problem save it via DXTBmp only in 32 bit (DDS 888-8 32 bit). When your absolutely sure you have it fixed you can then change it back to DXT-5.
