P3D System Specification Advice Request

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm reaching out to experienced P3D users.

I've finally worked up the courage to migrate from FSX to P3D and would appreciate some advice from experienced P3D users on the suitability of the new system I'm proposing to buy for purpose. The proposed system spec is as follows:

Intel® Core™ i7-7700K Kaby Lake, Turbo Quad Core, 8 Thread Processor, Overclocked to 4.8GHz
iD-Cooling Frost-flow 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler Red LED, Copper base
32GB 3000MHz DDR4 Memory (2x16GB)
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX GAMING Graphics card
1TB 2.5" SATA III SSD - Windows 7 Professional
2TB SATA III 6GB/s 7200rpm 64MB Cache 8ms
3 * AOC AGON AG271QG 1440p 165Hz IPS G-Sync running as a three surround monitor config.

I regularly run products like FSLA320X, PMDG, ORBX, AS16, ASCA, ENVTEX, TrackIR, EZCA products in Wide screen mode, with the usual collection of GA aircraft from Caranado, A2A and headline addon airport scenery supplier products etc.

I'm looking to improve my frame rates and VAS management from my previous FSX experience, where my i3770 and GTX680 has recently been producing a not very smooth 10 to 20 frames in DX10 mode with Steves Fixer, along with all the usual general instability that FSX users enjoy!

It's also not clear to me if G-sync will be a benefit or not in this 3 screen configuration?

Would any ("saw the light earlier") P3Dv3 users out there be kind enough to advise/comment on this specification before I take the plunge please?

Thanks in hopeful anticipation. Much appreciated.....

Andrew
