ORBX Libraries

Featured Replies

I have FTX Global installed, do I need to have ORBX Libraries as well or can I just delete it? I have read that it might cause some performance hit.

Best regards

i think almost all of the orbx products rely on those libraries, i would be hesitant about removing them. i guess the first thing to test would be, are you trying to solve a performance hit that you are experiencing? if you have a specific situation you can probably get more detailed help on their forums also..

cheers

Thank you for your reply, I would like to add that I got nothing else from ORBX than the trees and the global pack. And I don´t have any plans to get anything else.

You need it. Or you'll get artefacts, blocky rendering, odd things/ shapes appearing, and chiefly, missing items from airports, runways, etc. There seem to be some critical objects in there you need to display the new Global textures.

I haven't seen any performance hit from Global and Libraries - if anything an improvement in FPS.

Orbx update the library files periodically and a couple of times in the past have released a library update that has caused issues. They sort it out quickly though and there hasn't been a problem for a while now.

Okay, that solves that question then. Thank you for the excellent clarification. I´ll keep it.
