FSX-SE Change Default Load

Recommended Posts

I am curious why when I save a flight with an external view and make it the default, when I load it the view is always inside the virtual cockpit. But if I do not check it as the default view then when I load it the view is the external view I saved it as.

Is there a way to force FSX to load the default view as it has been saved?

There is a setting that gives the option of VC or 2D cockpit on startup of your Sim.  I think it's in FSX/Settigs/Customize/Aircraft.  This is probably overriding your outside view at startup.

charliearon, thanks for your reply. I will check that out and see if that fixes this annoying setting, will report back later.

charliearon, I checked out your suggestions but it did not make a difference. My Aircraft\Default Coclpit View is where it needs to be with the 3D checked as I never use 2D. But why does this affect the loading of my Default flight when it does not do that with a regular saved flight.

Does anyone else have this same issue? maybe it's simply hard coded into FSX. But I just don't understand why making a flight a Default flight would cause the loading of that flight to ignore my saved outside view and just put you into the cockpit view.

Only explanation that I can come up with is that the "default flight" is how a flight is started and just

saving a flight is anything after that start.

You are right, I guess it is hard coded in and cannot be changed in any config.
