March 2, 20179 yr I am curious why when I save a flight with an external view and make it the default, when I load it the view is always inside the virtual cockpit. But if I do not check it as the default view then when I load it the view is the external view I saved it as. Is there a way to force FSX to load the default view as it has been saved? March 2, 20179 yr Administrators There is a setting that gives the option of VC or 2D cockpit on startup of your Sim. I think it's in FSX/Settigs/Customize/Aircraft. This is probably overriding your outside view at startup. Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. March 2, 20179 yr Author charliearon, thanks for your reply. I will check that out and see if that fixes this annoying setting, will report back later. Regards, Dane - Windows 11 Home - CPU Intel Core i7-10700KF @3.8GHz - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU - 1TB SSD DRIVE - RAM 32GB - MSFS-2020
March 2, 20179 yr Author charliearon, I checked out your suggestions but it did not make a difference. My Aircraft\Default Coclpit View is where it needs to be with the 3D checked as I never use 2D. But why does this affect the loading of my Default flight when it does not do that with a regular saved flight. Does anyone else have this same issue? maybe it's simply hard coded into FSX. But I just don't understand why making a flight a Default flight would cause the loading of that flight to ignore my saved outside view and just put you into the cockpit view. March 2, 20179 yr Administrators Only explanation that I can come up with is that the "default flight" is how a flight is started and just saving a flight is anything after that start. March 2, 20179 yr Author You are right, I guess it is hard coded in and cannot be changed in any config. Regards, Dane - Windows 11 Home - CPU Intel Core i7-10700KF @3.8GHz - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU - 1TB SSD DRIVE - RAM 32GB - MSFS-2020
