January 6, 200620 yr Besides being a simmer I am deep into Music and Photography. For my new PC Dell XPS 600) I have the choice of choosing (a) Windows
January 6, 200620 yr Yes SLI is overkill. I suggest you and I trade computers. :-lolI think SLI will definately enhance your FS experience Edmundo. More GPU is favored by any computer games, to a point of course, but I think you will see some major improvements over a single card (like mine, I'll still trade ya' :))Anyways, I would go with XP Pro, simply because it's more powerful. Media Center has it's place, but I am into music and photography as well and love my XP Pro SP2, mostly because I like many other things as well.I'm not saying Media Center will do nothing else, of course, but i am saying that XP Pro can do everything. As far as which will run FS better, check Google for any Media Center gaming reviews. If any game is slower on Media Center, chances are FS will be too, because the main thing that slows games are processes running simultaneously. Hope this helps you!http://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gif-Jeremy BurchSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!
January 6, 200620 yr I visited the WindowsXP Media Center page on the MS website. I am into photography and video editing and I'll stick with XP Pro. I'm a staunch "Classic Windows" display user and I'd get lost in all the GUI stuff. I sure hope Vista has that option.I don't know if you can but perhaps you could email MS and see what they say.Cal (CYXX)
January 6, 200620 yr Hi,As far as I know (maybe others can back me up) SLI is a waste for FS2004 since a game specifically has to support SLI.Don't know if FSX will support SLI though.Re OS: I would opt for XP Pro Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro
January 6, 200620 yr I have both (on 2 different computers).Unless you plan to watch/record TV, you really don't need Media Center.
January 7, 200620 yr Thank you very much for your wise advices.I will get a single Graphic card and win XP as per your recomendations.Edmundo
January 7, 200620 yr Windows Media Center is XP Pro with some additional features. Not sure what the price difference is, but if XP Pro cost more you just paid extra to get less :)
January 7, 200620 yr Windows 2000 Pro hahahahah!Works for everything I do, plus has no activation requirements, runs GigaStudio 3.1, Sonar 4, all games, and with an ObjectDesktop, looks like XP Pro! Doesn't do hyperthreading, but so far that isn't an issue for anything I do. I will keep this PC which I assembled now 3 years ago with one CPU and one video card upgrade, until Vista and 64 bit computing is the norm I hope.
