Addon Scenery Folder not in Main FSX:SE Directory

Featured Replies

Attempted to install an Avsim AFCADS KMEM. Went to FSX:SE directory to find that the addon scenery folder wasn't there.

Any input would be appreciated.

Maybe this video on how to install scenery into FSX-SE might help!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

Just to remind people of what the Addon Scenery folder actually was -- this was originally designed as a pre-activated scenery folder which you could use to test scenery files, or simply drop .simple scenery files into the relevant scenery and/or texture folder, without the need to activate it in the Library. It was never designed to be a repository for all addon scenery, so it never made much sense to me to put your own subfolders into it. Further developments on FSX such as FSX:se and Prepar3d have just done away with this, but you can add your own Addon Scenery folder and the two subfolders, activate it in the Scenery Library, and then it will work the same as FSX and FS2004(?)

Lockheed Martin certainly don't recommend using this folder management, so people will eventually move away from it as they move on from FSX. However the idea of a pre-activated scenery folder for simple files still works, you just need to make it yourself.
