April 7, 20179 yr Hi, I am not familiar with some of the XP vendors and had been eyeballing the VflyteAir Cherokee's. Was curious about the cockpit quality. Carenado is hard to beat as you know but it is hard to really get the eye candy on web pics and videos. Just curious for those who are familiar with both. Thanks Bob Officially retired
April 7, 20179 yr Commercial Member I should probably not answer here, but just want to note that Carenado does not have a Cherokee for X-Plane (they have one for FSX), but an Archer II. In terms of cockpit quality, I let others judge. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
April 7, 20179 yr Author Hi Mario, LOL I "suspect" you made the right decision, although constructive comparison is OK. I was an Electrical Contractor for 35 years and I can tell you why I was one the best (-: I do understand though. Bob Officially retired
April 8, 20179 yr In my opinion vFlyteAirs, especially the Cherokee has a better flight model than many Carenados, add to this the availability of PBR liveries and you have a more than decent competitor, especially the Cherokees O and G. Karsten Schubert
April 8, 20179 yr Author Hi Longranger, what area of the flight model would you say vFlyteAirs excels? Thanks for your input! Bob Officially retired
April 9, 20179 yr Over Carenados? Nrearly everywhere! Especially if we look at the Cherokee. Hardly surprising since one of the developers flies the Cherokee. I wolud place them between Catrenados without the REP plugin and with the REP plugin. While they don´t reach the A2A Cherokee in P3D I would say they are to close for comfort even for them, if you consider the price! Mario compared it with the old Carenado Archer, but I think this is ridiculous. The old Carenado Archer shows its Age, while the Cherokee shows even compared to the Bonanza A 36 (much newerthan the ancient Archer), that it is from a totally different generation. Although they have small troubles with their flight models (they aren´t tuned for X-Plane 11 yet) they simply performed very good, even under X-Plane 11 with their PBC liveries (on vFlyteAirs homepage).
