From those two, clearly, Windows 8.1 is the best choice.

Better support for hardware, correct UEFI support and a more advanced, more modern OS. We aren't talking about user taste here, it's better technically and more evolved than 7.

If you can, and if Windows 10 doesn't bother you with all the patronizing, go Windows 10.
