Central CDU for FMC?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Is it possible to control FMC inputs from the central CDU? I've searched for an answer but can't find a reference.

Best wishes,

Luke

The only time you could do this is if the Left and Right FMCs failed (I mean the FMCs, not the CDUs). I don't know how you could simulate this in PMDG. Some simulators allow you to pull circuit breakers to force this to happen.

The functions are limited, however. You could only use the Nav Rad, the Progress and the Legs pages. You could only enter waypoints using lat/long and you could only tune the center ILS. The Legs information could only be a guide. You couldn't link up the A/P or A/T with the FMC in this condition.

Thanks for your reply JHW.

I guess my question meant to ask whether there is a configuration option, either via PMDG or "in cockpit" which allowed use of the central CDU for FMC input aside from invoking it through failure modes! Either way, you've kindly answered my question, so I won't have to spend anymore time hunting for an answer :-)

Many thanks!

Luke
