Some airports only show up close

Featured Replies

Been flying in Ireland and I thought there where only five airports as what navmap show..  I was playing around with Google earth and saw more. For example EIIR showing was fine in navmap but when zoom into 2.6 nm thats when I could see EIMN and EIIM and the island does not show. I have show all airports checked. Is there anything else I need to do to show all airports at more than a 2.6 distrance? Thanks.

I'm curious. If you go to your in-simulator map, are the airports that show in Google Earth available? The database is built from the airports that exist in your sim. Basically, if it's a airport that's installed in your simulator, Little Navmap will show it and it should be available to you.

Maurice,

as Barry indicated there are much more airports in the real world than in FSX. You can find plenty in the OpenStreetMap background that are not in the simulator.

Another reason is that Little Navmap limits the number of displayed airports for performance reasons which does not work well in sparse regions.

To get around that increase the number of details.

I forgot the details level too. Believe it or not, when I'm flying low altitude VFR, I have the details maxed with the map zoomed in to about 24nm and suffer no performance impact. I don't think I ever told you that in our exchanges Alex. Just goes to show what a great job you've done.

Thanks for the tip Bearly..I usually fly low and fast in my real air Turbine Duke and Legacy. I'll try low and slow with navmap full details. I just learned today on how to do a search. I probably read manual about 5 times, still haven't learn all of navmap. Yep Alex did a great job.. Love the flight plan for gtn 750 saves time..
