Asca and rex 4 sc

Featured Replies

Hey guys

If i was to use full dynamics mode

Cloud structure only ticked in asca

And used rex sc for textures

Would this be the best option?

Or also untick cloud structures in asca and use rex 4 sc?

Thanks

MiKe

I'd suggest leaving the cloud structures on. The only thing is that you are not using the full potential of the full dynamics mode. When you select a texture set in REX it has a small amount of textures to choose from, and these will be the only textures you see in your session. This is good for short hops or VFR.

With all options ticked in ASCA obviously the texture set they choose from is considerably larger, giving you a much higher variety in textures and more appropriate textures for a given cloud structure or metar report.

The problem with this is of course, REX textures are way better. But you have to make a compromise somewhere, and I think it's mostly personal taste.

On another note, REX servers went through some major update process recently in preparation for new products about to be released. And if you read through the forums i'd be willing to take any bet Sky Force 3D is one of those products. So maybe we won't be facing this problem again very soon as SF3D will be ASCA with REX textures and probably a lot more.. Can't wait!
