[LOGISTICS] Important Pre-Conference Information

Hello everyone,

For those of you attending FlightSimCon this weekend, we're looking forward to meeting you! This post provides an overview of the most important logistics information about the event. Please read the following sections carefully, as they contain instructions for your participation in the conference.

General Information
FlightSimCon 2017 attendees include desktop flight simulation enthusiasts, student and certified pilots, high school and college students, aviation professionals, and the general public.

This year’s conference is being held at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport, located at:

The conference will begin with a welcome seminar and conference overview promptly at 9:00am on June 10. Please allow yourself ample time to park and check-in so that you can participate in the full program.

Whova Conference App
FlightSimCon has partnered with Whova for the 2017 event, and we encourage all attendees to download Whova from your app store now. Access the conference schedule, receive important announcements, and chat directly with other conference members...all from your phone! Whova will be the central communication hub for the entire event.

The app may be downloaded from your smartphone’s app store. When creating your profile, enter the email address you registered with for the event. Whova should automatically recognize and grant you access to the event. If the app requests an access code to join, use ‘fsc2017’.

Conference Logistics: Schedule, Meals, and Travel
General questions about the venue and travel are answered in our Travel Guide and Local Area Guide. Information about meals and the conference schedule is available on the FlightSimCon website at and as a PDF document. All relevant conference information, including an interactive exhibitor booth map, is also posted on Whova.

Program Guides with information about schedules, seminars, exhibitors, and sponsors will be available for pick-up at the check-in desk in the hotel lobby.

Please ask a FlightSimCon representative during the conference if there is anything you need help with.

Attendee Check-In
For guests arriving on Friday, attendee check-in will be available from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the FlightSimCon registration desk, located in the hotel lobby. We encourage all attendees on-site at that time to check-in and pick up their conference badge and attendee gift bag. 

On Saturday morning, check-in begins at 7:30am in the hotel lobby. Please leave yourself ample time to arrive, as the conference will begin with a welcome seminar promptly at 9:00am on June 10.

For guests attending the conference on Sunday only, registration will begin at 8:00am in the hotel lobby. Attendees who checked in on Friday or Saturday do not need to do so again on Sunday.

Bradley Airport Escape Lounge Discount
We are excited to partner with Escape Lounge BDL and offer all FlightSimCon 2017 attendees flying into or out of Bradley International Airport (KBDL) access to the lounge for just $25 ($20 off the regular rate). The Escape Lounge, which is open to passengers of any airline, features complimentary food and drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), internet, and a great atmosphere to relax before or after taking a flight. It's a great place to socialize with some fellow FlightSimCon attendees before your trip home!

The Escape Lounge is located post-security near Gate 1, so be sure to enjoy the discounted offer prior to leaving the airport’s secure area. The Escape Lounge is only available to attendees who are flying into or out of Bradley Airport.

Travel Photo Contest: Win a Navigraph Subscription!
Share your travel experience to FlightSimCon 2017 via social media for the chance to win a 90-day subscription to Navigraph! This is a great way to show your excitement for the conference, be creative, and potentially win some cool prizes!

To enter, simply post photos as you travel to the conference on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and include the hashtag #FlightSimCon. There’s no limit to how many photos you post. The winner will be announced at the welcome seminar on Saturday morning.

FlightSimCon Bingo: Win a Ton of FlightSim Products!
This year, we are introducing FlightSimCon Bingo as a way for attendees to win giveaway prizes! Be sure to pick up a bingo card at the registration desk after checking-in, and then return it to one of the marked raffle boxes by Sunday afternoon. Prizes include items such as ImagineSim scenery products, JustPlanes Blue-Rays, Navigraph subscriptions, and TrackIR bundles! More detailed information will be available at the conference.

All conference attendees will have access to free parking for the duration of the event, provided that they park in either the Sheraton Hotel’s parking garage or the dedicated FlightSimCon overflow lot.

Many area hotels offer free shuttle service to Bradley Airport, including the Sheraton Hotel. If you are staying in the area, we encourage you to coordinate a shuttle ride to the event or carpool with fellow attendees. Uber and other ride sharing companies are available in the Windsor Locks area.

Attendees driving to the event may park in the Sheraton’s parking lot, while space is available. However, we do expect this lot to fill up quickly on Saturday morning. Once the Sheraton lot is full, attendees and exhibitors will be accommodated in the overflow lot, as described below. Please allow ample time for parking and check-in on Saturday morning. The conference will begin with a welcome seminar promptly at 9:00am on June 10. 

If you need to park at the overflow lot, please first speak with the hotel shuttle driver located at the podium just inside the hotel lobby. The driver will provide a permit to place on your dashboard.

To drive from the Sheraton Hotel to the overflow parking lot, use the following directions or this link. A picture depicting the overflow lot is available here.

  • From the Sheraton Hotel entrance, head northwest on Bradley International Airport Drive Road
  • Keep left to continue to Schoephoester Road
  •  Merge onto Schoephoester Road
  • Use the left lane to stay on Schoephoester Road
  • Turn left onto Cargo Road. Disregard the sign that reads “No Thru Traffic - Restricted Area”;  you have authorization to drive on that road.
  • Turn right into “Air Cargo East” Multi-Tenant Cargo Facility. Park in that lot.

It’s about a 3-minute drive between the hotel and overflow lot. The walk back to the hotel will be about 8 minutes. If you wish, you may make arrangements with the hotel to have a shuttle pick you up.
