  1. FlightSimExpo is a brand new, community-driven simulation conference developed by the team at Boston Virtual ARTCC. As discussed in the press release, the event will be held the weekend of June 9-10, 2018 at Flamingo Las Vegas Resort.
  2. Boston Virtual ARTCC is behind the FlightSimExpo event in Las Vegas; it no longer has an affiliation with FlightSimCon. You're right that many of the FlightSimExpo team members were involved with FlightSimCon in the past. In that role, we worked closely with the flight simulation community. It was clear that flight simulation developers from around the world, led by FlightSimExpo top sponsor Orbx, were extremely interested in a conference in Las Vegas. A lot of attendees were looking for a change in scenery as well. As a result, the team from Boston Virtual ARTCC worked with the flight simulation community to develop and launch FlightSimExpo.
  3. Post a photo of yourself (and any other FlightSimCon attendees you may be traveling with) on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram of your travels to FlightSimCon for a chance to win a 90 day subscription to Navigraph! Rules: Must use #FlightSimCon and tag FlightSimCon in the post. Make your photo stand out for the best chance to win! Winner will be announced Saturday morning at the conference and through the Whova App. Good luck!

    Handicap Parking at the Hotel

I don't have an exact count on how many handicapped spaces are available in the Sheraton lot, unfortunately. In the event that those spaces are full, we should be able to work with the hotel to find an appropriate solution. My advice would be to pull up front of the hotel and speak with a hotel staff member about the situation. It is likely that we can arrange to have someone valet your vehicle. If you do need to park in the overflow lot, we can arrange for the Sheraton shuttle driver to pick you up there and drive you back to the venue.

A picture depicting the overflow lot is available here. From the Sheraton Hotel entrance, head northwest on Bradley International Airport Drive Road Keep left to continue to Schoephoester Road Merge onto Schoephoester Road Use the left lane to stay on Schoephoester Road Turn left onto Cargo Road. Disregard the sign that reads “No Thru Traffic - Restricted Area”; you have authorization to drive on that road. Turn right into “Air Cargo East” Multi-Tenant Cargo Facility. Park in that lot. It’s about a 3-minute drive between the hotel and overflow lot. The walk back to the hotel will be about 8 minutes. If you wish, you may make arrangements with the hotel to have a shuttle pick you up. Thanks for your Support! We very much appreciate your attendance this year. Question about parking

Although the details aren't up on the website yet, I can tell you that parking will be available in both the garage at the Sheraton Hotel (the conference venue) and an overflow parking lot on the airport grounds. Parking will be free for all attendees. The lot at the Sheraton Hotel will be first come, first served. Once that's full, we'll begin using the overflow parking lot. So if you arrive early enough on Sunday to grab a spot in the Sheraton garage, you should be able to leave very quickly. If you wind up in the overflow lot, it should be a short (< 10 min.) walk to your vehicle, or you can ask the hotel front desk for a shuttle ride.

    Question about parking

Good question! At the moment we're finalizing the parking details with the conference venue; I expect to have more information on our website within the next week or so. Let me get back to you shortly after that happens to make sure that I don't mislead you by accident.

Will any seminars be streamed live?

Hey there, This year, YouTube and Twitch streamers Jeff Favignano, Ty Shuff, and Alan Shafto will be exhibiting at the event and have plans to live stream interviews with various exhibitors and possibly portions of the seminars. I encourage you to follow those individuals throughout the weekend and watch the content they post; I'm sure they would also welcome special requests if you have one. Several media partners, such as AirDailyX and PCPilot, will be on site during the conference and typically post snippets or summaries of popular seminars that take place. Expect to see those posted shortly after the event (so not live, unfortunately). Also expect to see some live streaming via the standard FlightSimCon social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter). However, there are no plans to stream seminars in their entirety via a dedicated streaming platform. -Phil

    Gauges Freeze

Hello,I have had the PMDG 747X for a while, and only recently an issue has arisen with this product.A few days ago I altered the VC gauge refresh rates for the 747 for better performance. Since then, all of my aircraft gauges have frozen up at various times during my flight. Once it was just before touchdown, another time I was on approach, and another time I was at cruise. My gauges simply freeze up, and no longer function as they should. On one occasion, I noticed that I could no longer change any switches or dials at all (i.e. the light switches on the overhead). One of these instances was followed by an Out of Memory error, however, I don't understand how this is possible, because I have flown the PMDG in excess of 10 hours straight, with no issues, yet, I got an OOM error after just 20 minutes in the air. Also, today, I loaded up the PMDG, and I got an error message saying: Gauge: no loading gaugeError: Panel Background (1024) bitmap not found:"SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG747-400\panel.VC\747.CDU.bmp"I went to the location specified, and sure enough, the bitmap was missing. However, even with the missing file, I started a flight just for kicks, and the panel background appeared just as it should, and all appeared normal. So...I tried to do an complete uninstall and reinstall of the PMDG 747X, and that didn't work. So...I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX, and that didn't work either! I'm really stumped on this one, especially why everything is suddenly going haywire on me after almost a year of no problems. The only software change I have done recently was upgrade to REX 2.0, but I believe that I have eliminated REX as a problem. After reinstalling FSX, I tried the PMDG 747 without REX, and I still am getting these errors.I am running the PMDG 747X on FSX+Acceleration with Windows Vista. My computer specs are in my signature. Thanks, Ferrari
