July 4, 20178 yr Hi guys, I want to upgrade my current system to a newer level. last year I upgraded the GPU and added a SSD. I am not a specialist with computer hardware so any advice are welcome :) I am using P3Dv4 and want to go the mid-bugdet way if it is possible^^ Anyway thanks for all your help Greetings Friedolien Developer www.facebook.com/Crossfeed-Design Phil
July 5, 20178 yr You will have to change Mainboard, CPU, RAM and maybe the PSU. How much do you wan't to spend? Orcun Günaytekin
July 5, 20178 yr Author I dont get an idea of how much, which component cost. Maybe one can give me some examples. I really not an expert on pc hardware and its compatibilty Developer www.facebook.com/Crossfeed-Design Phil
July 5, 20178 yr ASUS Maximus IX HERO Sockel 1151 ~ 250€ Intel Core i7 7700k ~ 330€ or Intel Core i7 7600k ~ 230€ Kingston HyperX DIMM 16 GB DDR4-2400 Kit ~ 150€ NZXT Kraken X62 (watercooling, if you wan't to overclock in the future) ~ 169€ Otherwise you can also use the default boxed cooler or any other cheaper cooler for your 1151 sockel, just check out on the websites. There is no need for paying extra money for cooling it's just up to you what you wanna do with the CPU. I must also say that there is a new CPU lane coming from both Intel and AMD and that means they might change the sockel for Intel which I don't know. So you would have to buy all over again a new mainboard, ... and so on if you wan't to upgrade it for the next time. cheers Orcun Günaytekin
July 6, 20178 yr Author Thanks for your advice. Heard that there are coming some new intels in august. Maybe I am waiting for them and maybe the older ones will get down in price. I will stay with any default boxed cooler for now. No need to buy a new power supply? Any other suggestions guys? greetings Developer www.facebook.com/Crossfeed-Design Phil
July 6, 20178 yr You can also get a cheaper mainboard if you like to, you can choose any with a Sockel 1151. Maybe this: ASUS Strix Z270F Gaming ~ 180€. Also try this website for the PSU: http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/ For the pricing, I don't think they will get cheaper, but the new CPU's most likely would cost the same. cheers Orcun Günaytekin
July 7, 20178 yr Author ok thanks. Will have a look. Any other opinions or different components from other specialists? :) Greetings Developer www.facebook.com/Crossfeed-Design Phil
July 10, 20178 yr Author Any advice on these 2 PSU? Which one is better for my GPU and the next gen of cpu, RAM and motherboard? Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 750W 80Plus Gold or Corsair CP-9020015-EU CX Serie CX750 ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze 750Watt Edit: I guess I also need to get a new tower for the hardware. How to handle this? Is there a tool to calculate the space needed?^^ Found this one too as a watercooler: THERMALTAKE Water 3.0 Riing Red 280 Wasserku 2x14cmPWM Intel 2011v3/2011/1366/1150/1151/1155/1156 AMD FM2+/FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2. Is it good? Developer www.facebook.com/Crossfeed-Design Phil
November 17, 20178 yr Author Hey here again, Can anyone help me with upgrading my system, cause I dont know which components are good and which will work great together. Following is my current setting: ASUS P8H67-M Rev.3.0 Intel® Core™ i7-2600 2x GeIL DIMM 8 GB DDR3-1333 Kit NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Seagate ST31000526SV 1TB LG GH-22ls thermaltake tr2 rx 55w Want to upgrade the cpu to the newest one form Intel, is the next gen out yet? Read that one of them is, the other coming in 2018, but dont know, if the one out yet is a good choice for running P3Dv4. If I upgrade the CPU I also will need to upgrade the rest, excluding GPU and harddrives (will add another Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB too) Can Anyone help me with the components and give me some advice?
