Waking this one up again because I just came to thing of something.

Do you think it would be possible to use PTA to disguise this issue?

Nope, post-rendering shaders can improve the looks of the sim (post-rendering shaders act like lens, they can change the looks, improve lighting conditions, add lens effects using Direct-X or Open-LG, etc.)  but cannot correct the core sim rendering issues.

The solution is to use DX11 / DX12 to render the Sky, Clouds, Weather engine and lighting properly, google "True Sky" and you will find what is required from LM to change the sim Sky and Weather engine to make it closer to real world environments, people are suggesting to LM on their oficial forums to implement TrueSky.

On the plus side, don't be afraid to upgrade to V4, it is great! and a huge steep forward in term of flight sim simulators.

Simbol

Checked out TrueSky and it looks really nice! Will head over to LM and vote for this myself and hope they will consider it.

As for P3Dv4 I already upgraded and I agree with you. From what I've seen so far it certainly is a step in the right direction.

Here's a short clip I made what it looks like when it's snowing in P3Dv4 for those who haven't seen it already. To me this almost looks real and is also something at least I've been wishing for for a very long time.

Sorry for the Swedish title but it's actually very close to English so I'm sure you can understand anyway ;-)
