Hello there,

I updated my PC last night and when I tried to open it today it just wouldn't load. The blue screen that says 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X' doesn't even load. I just see my desktop. It is disk.

See AVSIM CTD Guide (link in my signature), page 29, Application will not Start or FSX will not Load.  One of those suggestions should fix your problem.
