Difference Between the Two Addon.cfg's?

Featured Replies

I am trying to figure out what is the difference between the two add-ons.cfg's? There is one in the Program Data folder and another in the User/name/AppData/Roaming folder. The one in the Program Data folder has mostly stuff from FSDT and their addon manager and stuff from Flightbeam (except for MSP) along with Imaginesim's KATL. The one in the roaming cfg has LatinVFR scenery, Flightbeam's MSP (due to their new FB Manager), UK2000 scenery and DD's scenery. I am trying to figure out why some go in one cfg and some in the other? So confused by it.

Hi Eric,

It's a matter of priority. The add-in.cfg file in %LocalAppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 has priority over the add-on.cfg file  in %AppData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 which has priority over the add-on.cfg file in %ProgramData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4. You can find the description in the SDK here.

Found the page that describes it, thank you. A bit bloody complicated if you ask me. When P3D v4.1 comes out, it should be quite interesting for some doing a complete reinstall.
