PFPX Server subscription

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I do use PFPX but I never purchased the server subscription. I noticed that simbrief offers NOTAMS for free. How can it be, that an addon you paid for cannot offer that service for free? Never mind, I get my weather from ASN into PFPX, but I am missing NOTAMS and TAF's in my FP. Is there a way to use a freeware source to get that information integrated into the PFPX FP?

While PFPX may not offer NOTAMs for free, I believe the server subscription is so the software can look for all the information, parse it and then display it in a pleasing fashion for the user. Just as flight planning is free if you can source the charts, weather, fuel consumption figures, etc but if you want it done for you with little effort, in comes PFPX which is a paid program.

For your NOTAM needs, you can bookmark the following link: https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/

For your TAF needs, you can bookmark the following link: https://www.aviationweather.gov/taf?gis=off

They both provide global coverage so you're free to look up any airport you wish.

I'm not sure if you can integrate information gained from these sources into your flight plan in PFPX but you can certainly bookmark them within PFPX and have it open while setting up your flight so you may refer to the above websites on demand and from PFPX itself without the need for a browser.

Hope it helped. If not, feel free to ask any follow-up questions.
