Challenging flight tonight!

Featured Replies

Decided to fly out of Houston (IAH) to San Antonio (SAT) tonight.  Took off in Jet Blue A320 at 19:30 hours in driving rain and wind.  Severe thunderstorms.  We're talking serious Rock and Roll here.  Using Active Sky for P3d v4 and only climbed at 1600 fps to avoid a stall.  Rain continued to 13,000 ft and visibility NEVER cleared all the way to KSAT. Turbulence was evident all the way ( and I haven't even downloaded EZdok for this sim yet).  There were some patches of clouds off in the distrance at 21,000 feet.  I only flew to 25,000 before descending.  NO visibility until I hit the runway at KSAT. Weather program stated 0.6 for visibility at San Antonio.

What a ride!  I really feel sad for the people in these parts of Texas right now, because it must be horrific.  I pray they all get through this storm safely and soon.

I was flying KIAD - KMEM (UAL515 738) and had a hell of a ride the entire time. I check the SIGMETS on skyvector.com before I left and sure enough AS P3D4 handled it perfectly. Landed on 09 at MEM and hd ZERO studders....never had that with P3D v3.

Tomorrow night I'll probably fly to IAH or maybe LAX.
