CLS A340-600- Stuttering Perfection.

Featured Replies

I love the Airbus A-340-600........in REAL LIFE, but not the CLS version. My wife and I flew one to Johannesburg, South Africa, and I really looked forward to flying a good one in FS9. I thought I found one when CLS announced their plane yesterday. I even downloaded the smaller textures and smaller soundset, but I can't get more than 10 frames. It stutters so badly that I wish I'd never bought it.I have the CLS A300, and it works great. My system is a 2.8, 1024 Ram, NVidia 7800 256Mg system, but this plane brings it to its knees. Most every other plane in my stable gives me 24+ frames, so it's not the system. I sure hope CLS finds a way to make this plane more flyable. It can't just be me....can it?

according to their forum, there is a gauge that is causing the framerate loss. when they fix it, i will purchase it. they have great support and Ive enjoyed their A306

I found a soundset on avsim for the A340 with trent engines it helped my fps a bit avg from 14 to 18 and sounds great. Search for final_trent_556.zip under fs2004 sounds. Not a complete fix but it helps. I'm sure there will be an update for the faulty guage, be patient. If you can't wait, maybe try changing the panel for now. I use Ken Mitchell's panel on my Posky A342's and A343's search on Avsim ab340km_panel.zip Also try locking FPS at a number your system can handle, makes it run much smoother. I have mine locked at 18-20 depending on aircraft really helps with stutters.

You may want to do a search also for "The Real Deal" series of sounds by I think Christopher Peterson?? He has made some amazing sound sets for various AC. You will be amazed at the quality and realism.

Thanks, Yes, I tried the new soundset and new textures. I'll change the Pixel size in the VPanel now. Appreciate the help. I hope the new gauge helps. It's amazing to me that in TESTING this aircraft BEFORE release, that the tester's computers didn't pick up this anomoly.

Now now, not everyone has these problems. We've seen on our own forms some customers that seem baffled that others are reporting the low fps. And I myself find it no worse than other add-ons.How much affect it has does seem to have an element system specificness.

Strange..im using an 6800 and without replacement tex. or repl.sound and i have no problems with it..good decent frames, no worse than other addons hope you get it sorted out, its a nice birdAziz
