September 8, 20178 yr I would like to make changes to the default flyby as well as the outside locked spot view. Tried editing camera.cfg but it did not work. What are my options ? Thanks for any suggestions

September 8, 20178 yr Author After I installed Chase Plane the outside lock, the flyby and the top zoom view (F12) behaviours were changed by the ChasePlane installer What can I do to restore something as close to the original as possible ? Thanks
September 8, 20178 yr Commercial Member What do you mean by "behaviours were changed"? Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.
September 8, 20178 yr Author The biggest annoyance is the fly-by view...the plane is so much further away. Before ChasePlane installation it would fly by much closer - essentially the zoom factor has been changed.
September 8, 20178 yr Commercial Member Simply zooming in while in that view should solve the issue Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.
September 8, 20178 yr Author I know that. But why would I have to do that ? Did not have to previously - and I could also edit the flyby view in camera.cfg.. Of well....thanks anyway.
September 8, 20178 yr Commercial Member I can't explain it without being a bit technical but here it is: Due to simconnect limitations, ChasePlane cannot read the zoom setting from the sim, it can only set it. We send camera position data at 240Hz to the simulator and by the time we realize you changed to an unsupported view and stop the data stream, the zoom setting has been set to what you had before the change occurred and we have no way of knowing what it was before that change. This is the main reason why we don't officially support views that are not owned by ChasePlane. That being said, we want to introduce a replacement for the flyby camera. I hope this answers your question! Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.
September 9, 20178 yr Author That will do fine for the time being. Thank you. Looking forward to the enhancement.
