Importing a flight plan into the flight 1 gtn from Little nav map

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I created a flight plan in Little Navmap that contained custom waypoints.

I exported it as a .gfp file, and when I load it into the gtn, it says that there were invalid waypoints. And when I went to activate the flight plan, it says that locked waypoints must be removed before the flight plan can be activated.

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a flight plan with custom waypoints with Little Navmap and be able to use it in the gtn? Or do all the waypoints in the flight plan need to be waypoints that the gtn has in its database?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Caleb,

custom waypoints should work. They are added as coordinates to the GFP file like N53308W003076 below:

FPN/RI:F:EGNH:F:BILVO.N864.GUNTU:F:N53308W003076:F:WAL:F:EGNR

The locked waypoints are probably normal waypoints.

Ok I see.  I discovered it was not the custom waypoints that had the problem, it was the destination airport.  The GFP file had it in as the airport ID.  The GTN did not have that airport in its database since it is a small airport.  So the airport was the unknown waypoint, not the custom waypoint.

Thanks
