The urge to get down

Featured Replies

While I just finished a vatsim flight to someplace in Kakastan.I am going around the world. The weather was reported as 1100 OVC in snow. Well, it was bad. I have not felt that urge to get on the ground in a long time. I did not want to go around. Well I did land but it was hairy. I am using a C310. NDB approach only. I got a little too low once in a while. I could see the skywire on the towers. Any power lineman here, you'll know what I am talking about?JimCYWG

LOL From the title of your post I thought the "urge" was something else (too much coffee means I hit the "P" key... in a very literal sense).Good job on the tough landing,Greg

Thanks Greg. The good thing was that the wife never came in and asked for kiss. Ha ha. Sure looked nice with all the enhansments though. Active sky this and enviorment that. WOW. What a rush. I was even enhansed.JimCYWG

or is it perhaps Kazakhstan?Uh, not when I have to hit the "P" key. It's just... well, right now and forget the airport name! :-) Greg

I'm with you, I did a flight from UK to France (Le Havre) and when I got there it was throwing snow down something chronic, I could not see the runway at all on the first pass, then on the second I was off to the left of it, managed to land halfway along it, thankfully was only in a Piper Seneca so didn't use much runway anyhow.
