PMDG 777 Elctronic Flight Bag (EFB)

Featured Replies

Hi

I saw some picture from the b777 cockpit with the EFB system.

When I saw in the PMDG 777 cockpit I don't see the EFB system.

Why PMDG don't developed this system in the PMDG 777 ?

Waiting for an answer

Thanks ;)

Mostly because EFBS were limited in 32 Bit and would take VAS out of the platform that were needed for things such as the gauges and scenery. For example most EFB's don't have a tracking map of the chart. You also need to manually download the charts to a folder and then load it to the EFB. Not as simple as search and view. Finally most of the systems that other companies are using for an EFB like loading fuel, passengers and startup state, are already loaded into he FMC.

Simply said it would be a huge waste of resources in the VAS and effort for something I never see my self using any how in the current aircraft that have it.  Now QW787 promises to have the one and true EFB however that remains to b seen.

If in the future we can get a live view and utility to load and use charts of the Navigraph charts app, now you really have a game changer.
