Sorry if this has been asked before - couldn't find it...

I installed P3D v4.1 and am going to feed it with my PMDG 777 base install. 

Should I still run the Legacy Simconnect installers that come with P3Dv4.1 or is the standard Simconnect version that comes default with P3D v4 enough ?

I find that the standard v4 simconnect works fine for me.
