Highmemfix tweak won't work

Featured Replies

Hi, a few weeks ago I discovered the HIGHMEMFIX=1 tweak in the cfg, for a couple of weeks it worked great and fixed all the high memory problems I had, e.g. Ghost airports and planes where everything dissapears, but now these problems are occurring again even though the tweak is in the same place it always was in my cfg.

help is greatly appreciated as this is an annoying problem

The highmemfix=1 is not a tweak but an actual fix to FSX/SP2 or FSX/Acceleration.  It was supposed to be added to FSX/Acceleration but they forgot to include it in the release.

Ghost airports and planes could be caused by DX10 Preview as old stuff made for FS9 and earlier sims was developed with DX9 and not compatible with DX10.  So, anything you install which states is compatible with FSX may not really be compatible if you turn on DX10 Preview.
