I've got a running list of some of my favorite planes at my site (click below). Check out the "Microsoft Flight Simulator" link to the left and select the "Aircraft" button. It includes links to the downloads and authors plus a link to info on each plane, as well as some classifying information. I have used all the freeware planes, the list of payware is mostly what I hope to someday purchase. I tried to choose the list to have good variety in type and usage. You'll note most if not all of them have VC's :-).Let me know what you think of the layout (and if you have any issues)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Thanks :)I tried to limit the number of planes to a manageable size, and at the same time maintain variety, and links to multiple sites and prolific authors so that users could search further to find other planes they like of the same genre. After your note in the other thread, I realized I should add the BAC as it was one of the top getters in the list.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Hi Thomas Not a bad site do like the aircraft page i have had most of the aircraft bar the heli's but personally i didn't list the default aircraft as i haven't flown them for a while anywayJwentingi would happily have a list like you infact for a while i did but I share my pc with the family so i have to try and keep the list down to keep the GB's free for everyone ;( and thanks for replying to my thread everybodyrooMAN

I've got WAY TO MANY to list, my aircraft folder is 28 gigs. So here's a few screenies of my aircraft folder.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145659.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145660.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145661.jpgDave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard1.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

I literally have thousands of planes, I never get rid of them I collect them. I have a "Hangar" folder (a 120 gig partition really, drive g) on my 300 gig second hard drive where I keep my freeware planes. Their guages, effects, etc are kept in the normal FS9 folder. When I wan't to fly one of them I just copy it to the aircraft folder in the main FS9 Folder(You can keep them all there and I did for a long time but it slows your startup times). I also have them all backed up to DVD's along with the guages, effects, sound, modules, and all my add on sceneries. My payware aircraft, however, I leave on my main aircraft folder.

Yes, the list on my site is not every plane I've ever owned or tried, but it is representative of the planes in my library. Like the poster below, I found having too many planes in the aircraft folder adversely affected performance, so I removed as many as I could to another folder. I've found I rarely go back to the other folder, but sometimes I do. Flightsim Manager 2.85 is a great tool for helping to organize your files and get rid of what you don't need and finding out what files you do need. In fact, it's amazing how many airplanes get released with missing gauges and effects and textures and sounds that are necessary. Without FSM, I'd never know. And I imagine when a file is missing, that, too, adversely affects performance. In the end, I try to keep it down to between 35 and 65 aircraft available at a time, not including AI planes, which I don't have too many of since I usually turn AI off for perfomance reasons.
