How to View Pics

Recommended Posts

Hi Bob,

That's all due to Photo Buckets new policy - to charge $400.00 per year for someone to be able to "hot link" images on websites - - - there are articles out there along the lines of "Photo Bucket broke the Internet"... They were probably one of the most common image repositories on the Internet - and - chose to sever what I'm sure amounts to millions if not tens of millions of links embedded over more than a decade... You'll see these same notices on almost every forum on the Internet... Nothing to do with AvSim and not much to do about it other than paying the $400.00 yearly subscription (paid by author)...

It would be nice if AvSim could run a script to delete all these stale links and remove any advertising for Photo Bucket...

Regards,
Scott

Just did a search and found over 1500 topics and signatures linked to photobucket.  Problem with removing them all is that some are valid and evidently the member paid the big bucks.  In fact, the ones I found belong to members who decided to stay with photobucket as I doubt the dead links would show in a search.  Figure most members have updated their signatures.  Unfortunately, it would be too much work to get any dead links removed from each post but it will eventually all go away as the topics go further and further into the archives of AVSIM.

Hi Jim,

Hah - all good points - just thoroughly frustrated with Photo Bucket... I've got modeling tutorials on other sites that took months to put together... My own fault I know...

Thanks for looking...

Scott
