throttle and mixture moving together, help !!!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I just joined actually. I'm a long time flight simmer but I need some help.

I just bought x-plane 11 last week and I've been enjoying it immensely with my oculus rift. I have been flying the Cessna and baron mostly doing circuits. I recommend the rift highly. I can't fly anymore though because my mixture now moves with my throttle, like they are bound together.

The mixture control does not work with the normal keys or the virtual hand in the rift with fly-inside. It was fine before. I tried disconnecting all my joysticks from the computer with no luck. Even the helicopter shuts itself off after a "start with engines on" option. I tried mapping an axis to the mixture control but that failed too. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That's weird. Try going to the "X-Plane 11\Output\preferences" folder, and delete the "X-Plane Calibration.prf", "X-Plane Joystick Settings.prf" and "X-Plane Keys.prf" files.

Then, disconnect all joysticks except the ones you want to use for X-Plane, and run X-Plane. You will need to re-assign and re-calibrate all axes. See if that works.

I tried it and had no luck. I'm reinstalling. Thank you

For future reference, you probably don't need to reinstall.  Since controllers are controlled by the preferences file in your output folder, all you should need to do is remove that file, restart, and X-Plane will rebuild that file as you reload.  It will, as mentioned above, remove all controller settings and start you off at Seattle just like when you first started, but it should repair any controller problems.
