April 3, 200620 yr One thing that I've observed with most add-on ATC programs, and the stock FS9 ATC, is that the IFR clearance route is usually "as filed", and even the final altitude is as requested too. There may be differences to this that I'm not aware, and I can see that the ATC routines are allowing one to use the flight path that has been entered into FS9, or derived from another add-on, to prevail. What would be a little different might be an application (could even be a stand-alone program that could be run prior to FS start-up) that might still allow the 'as filed" clearance prevail on some flights, but could add various other routes as alternate clearances and final altitudes on some randomized probability. If the clearance was not 'as filed" then the user could either enter the new route into FS, or choose to not accept the clearance and go back to what had already been filed, but it could add some randomized nature to the route that is flown. This might approximate more of a real world scenario, at least it would do so from my experience in filing IFR in the Denver area (there's something unique to receiving a totally different route to the one that you have spent many hours preparing for, and right when you're ready to taxi and run-up, so not a lot of time to identify those new fixes on the chart and re-program that GPS).I couldn't program to save myself, otherwise I would give this a go. Does anyone know of such an application that might already be available? I assume getting a program to find a valid alternative routing between any two airports would be quite a task.Thanks- Bruce. April 3, 200620 yr Author Hi Bruce,Good Idea Bruce. I'd like that too. A good suggestion for Radar Contact. Its not even necessary for the ATC AI to come up with a route dyanamically. We should be able to load a bunch of routes into a database.. or a database containing freqently flow routes like what most flight planners already have.and when we file from an airport to a destination, the ATC AI just needs to pick a route from that database and read it out to us.;)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
