vor dme approach , npa approach

Featured Replies

Greetings,
1.i am practicing the vor dme approach with calm wind. i am using aerosoft extended in fsx steam.i am flying the approach in managed mode. when i activate the APP button , the aircraft turns towards the vor but i am always to the left or right of vor station ,not in line with the vor station flying the approach course as stated in approach plate . the aircaft never keeps the vor needle at the centre , it is always displaced to the left or right of centre in all managed mode (ap with trk fpa)
3. This situation I have seen in all of the approaches vor needle is never at centre.
4. Why does it happen ? What am I doing wrong? why does the aircraft not keep the vor indicator needle at the center?

Did you set the course?

Greetings,

courses are set.

If you have MyTrafficX, it contains several airports in the MyTrafficX/Scenery folder.  They are used by the program so the AI can takeoff and land.  It is a possibility MyTraffic scenery or some other scenery has taken priority and the coordinates are different.

So, if you have set the right frequency in NAV1 and also set the correct Course for the runway, then you should be in line to land.  If not, then I suspect the airport and/or any scenery you have installed like Orbx or Photoscenery.  Remember, when entering the NAV1 frequency in the right box, you need to click the arrows in between the boxes to swap to the working frequency.
