Installation error message

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Installed under a folder in FSX:SE Root directory as mentioned in the Read Me. Cannot launch the Controller, it will not start and I get an error message "cannot locate CSIDL. (46). Tried to google and search in this forum but found nothing useful. Any suggestions?

Regards, Pedro

it means that the controller has asked windows for the location of CSIDL_COMMON_DOCUMENTS which is the public documents area normally c:\users\public\public documents and windows has responded that it doesn’t know where it is.

what windows version are you using, what antivirus and do you have such a directory?  Does it contain a directory dx10sceneryfixer which the installer should have created?

Hi Steve

Thanks for quick and comprehensive reply. I'll check all this and get back to you a bit later today.

Hi again,

Have now checked and the directory is there under Users/Public/Public Documents and it is populated with 4 DFP files (whatever that means)

I am running Windows 10 on a brand new computer and Avast freeware antivirus.

Hope this helps

Regards, Pedro

If neither of those work I will send you a program that tries to locate the directory in different ways to see what works on your pc.

I have emailed you a link to download and try.
