KEWR Textrues

Featured Replies

Hi Team,

I have lost my runway textures for default KEWR (Newark) as just brown dirt shows up.

I have used different payware scenery Blueprint, and recently final approach simulations scenery.  I did not like any of the scenery's and have unistalled all of them.

I have looked in folders for dual textures, checked the main FSX files, but I can seem to find any double textures.  Any  help would be great.

I'm running FSX

I don't think this is an issue with double texture files as such but it's possible something like an AFCAD file may have been left behind after uninstallation of one or other these KEWR sceneries, particularly if you simply deleted the addon rather than using an uninstaller. Usually AFCAD type files are installed within the scenery subfolder of the addon airport but occasionally an installer might place an AFCAD file elsewhere within FSX. A common place for installers to place AFCAD files is the FSX/Scenery/World folder.

I use Flight1 payware called AFX to search for duplicate AFCAD files but I think there may also be some freeware products available which do this. However you could simply do a search of your FSX for residual files containing KEWR (or possibly EWR or Newark depending on how the developer has labelled the files) and if you find any KEWR files that also contain AF2, ADE, ADEX or AFX within the name then they are likely to be AFCAD files. You could then try deactivating any that you find (by renaming the bgl suffix to something like OFF) and retesting your setup after deactivation to see if that resolves the issue.
