  1. Hi, I use CH Pro yoke and rudders so I can’t specifically advise you on your Saitek/Bravo system, but if you really want to set up your hardware configuration to reflect the Cessna 441 controls as accurately as possible, I can recommend the payware version of John Dowson’s FSUIPC (FSUIPC 4 is the version for FSX I think). Using FSUIPC to calibrate the controls does come with a little bit of a learning curve but it has a good manual and in addition there are some helpful You Tube videos available on the subject. If you are very keen on configuring your hardware as close to reality as possible for the 441, it is well worth the effort and indeed multiple configurations can be created with FSUIPC for as many different aircraft as you want. Hope this might help, Bill
  2. Hi, I have this scenery installed in FSX and there are no firehouses or water towers on RW16/34 or indeed on any other runways (I just checked as it has been a long time since I flew in there I and may have used one of the other runways). When something like this happens it can sometimes be due to a duplicate AFCAD file left over from another addon for the same airport. Have you ever installed any freeware versions of RKSI in the past? Occasionally however it can be due to a scenery addon unrelated to the particular airport with the problem and this can be a more difficult issue to solve as it may not even be a nearby airport! It might be worth doing a search of your main FSX folder for RKSI or Incheon to see if you can find anything that seems to be situated outside your Overland RKSI folder. Bill
  3. Although I own the Majestic Q400, I have the Pilot version and not the Pro version which is the one with the toggle sound feature you mention so it is not something I have come across. However one way to possibly identify what file is getting modified would be to copy your Majestic Q400 sound.cfg file then apply the feature that you mention and make a copy of the sound.cfg after it has been applied. You could then compare the two cfgs and see what parameters, if any, have changed. This might give you some clue as to which parameters you might need to play about with to rectify the issue but I am not experienced enough with sound files to say what you should do so I certainly can't advise you on this! Maybe someone with more knowledge of FSX sound physics who might read this thread could advise you on that. The one bit of advice that I would give you is to ALWAYS make sure you keep a backup copy of any files you modify so that you can easily restore them if everything goes belly up! Bill
  4. I can understand your frustration and reluctance to reinstalling FSX, but I don't think GSX modifies water textures or indeed the sun, however I may be wrong in this assumption and am open to correction on this by someone with more knowledge of the product! Could I ask how did you remove GSX? Bill
  5. Hi. Clearly it seems to be affecting multiple aircraft so have you installed anything that might have modified some of the FSX cockpit sound parameters? Bill
  6. Hi, Pico in my setup also looks "normal" but I use the TropicalSim scenery for LPPI which also includes a remake of the coastlines (all the TropicalSim Azores airport addons come with coastline makeovers for their islands). By the way I notice that TropicalSim scenery is currently available in sale for the next 7 days at Simmarket with 40% off if you are particularly interested in flying around those islands. Bill
  7. Hi, I’ve no idea what the individual files involved are but they are probably in the …..FSX\Texture folder. However an option if you wanted to improve the appearance of the ground at your default airports would be to try the freeware FSX airport ground textures upgrade which I think is still available here in the Avsim library as well as on some other FSX freeware sites. I don’t know what these are like so you might be wise to back up your …..FSX\Texture folder before you install them in case they are not what you want. I have used a Rex payware product to improve my default FSX airport textures but I think Rex no longer sell their products for FSX. Bill
  8. If you do a google search, I think you will find that both come up as being available here in the Avsim library but they appear to be catalogued under FS2004 addons although they are for both FS2004 and FSX. Obviously they will be very outdated schedules but I don’t think you will find anything more up to date for FSX unless you go for one of the payware AI packages. Bill
  9. Ahh, maybe that is the problem as my TempBitmaps folder seems to have generic bmps for the ATR72 and there are no airline specific bmps in there (they are all in the Templates folder). I have checked the bmps in the TempBitmaps folder and they are not the same as the bmps in the SimObjects\Airplanes\Flight One ATR 72-500\Texture folder. Perhaps the simple data folder is a necessary requirement too. If you would like to PM me with your email address, I might be able to help you with these. Bill
  10. Hello, I'm not sure if that will solve the problem but you could try deactivating or removing it - just keep it safe and replace it again if it makes no difference. Just to confirm, does the TempBitmaps folder contain 10 bmp files for the ATR? Does the Data folder contain 2 files (airline.bin and airlines.cfg)? Bill
  11. Hi, This is probably a long shot but does anyone have any experience of using Ernie Alston's Integrated Simavionics (ISG) with the Virtual Col A220? I recently installed the ISG panel.cfg for the A220 as per the instructions on the developers website (a video on the ISG webpage actually) and, although the MCU and Smith's FMS are present as popups on the aircraft, I cannot get the magenta tracking line to display on the A220 MFD. Clearly the ISG MCU/FMS is actually communicating with the autopilot as I can see from my Navigraph map that the A220 is following the flight plan which I have entered on the FMS! I also installed the ISG mod to the default 737 just to check that it worked and that performed as expected and as a double check I installed the ISG mod to the CLS MD81 and again that worked perfectly with the magenta track showing up on the EHSI! I am an experienced simmer and am used to playing around with panel cfg files etc and I am certain that I have followed the correct installation procedure. I have searched for a solution to this to no avail and unfortunately the link to register for ISG support on their forum no longer functions! If anyone can help me resolve this issue it would be appreciated as I just wanted something a little different to the iFly 737, PMDG 777, QW 787 and Aerosoft A320 that I normally fly! Bill.
  12. Oh yes, many are happy to sell them for FSX but if a question is raised about some problem the answer will very likely suggest upgrading either your simulator or your operating system! Some at least have the honesty to mention on the purchase page that support will not be provided as it is a legacy product. Bill
  13. Hi again, Could I then suggest try copying the COMDLG32.OCX file into the relevant Windows folder as mentioned on that Flight1 link? In my setup it is in C:\Windows\ SysWOW64 as well as being in my main FSX folder. With regard to the Data folder, I am not sure how important that is to the functioning of Text-o-Matic! Bill
  14. I agree. My experience of Just Flight is that provides very good and pleasant support (unlike some other developers who I will restrain myself from mentioning!) so it is would be well worth contacting them again. The only thing to remember however is that this is not one of JF's own products (it was developed by Commercial Level Simulations) so there may be a limit to how far they can take it and perhaps you might need to reach out to CLS in that case. I have never had to contact CLS support so I don't know what they are like. Bill
  15. In addition to the Data.F1ATR folder which you mentioned earlier I also have a folder just named Data (which seems to contain files with lots of airline names) in my Tex-o-Matic folder - do you have that?? It does seem as if Text-o-Matic is unable to find your templates folder for some reason and I cannot see why that would happen as all your folders seem to be in the correct places. I do wonder whether it is related in some way to your Text-o-Matic coming from a source other than Flight1 although I don't know why that should affect it. As a last resort, have a look at the information in this link: [TEXT-O-MATIC] Problems and Solutions - ATR Discussion Forums (flight1.net). I'm not sure it will help you but it's worth checking that the file COMDLG32.OCX, which they refer to in that link, is in the correct folder. Bill
  16. Could you clarify that that file is in D:\Program Files (x86)\MG\FSX\Flight One Software\Text-o-Matic folder? Bill
  17. Which aircraft from HJG won't show up? Bill
  18. In addition to those folders you should also be an Aircraft Configurations folder in the Text-o-matic folder and that should contain a file called ATR_Exterior_32bit.bin and, as it is missing, I guess that is why you are getting the error message. Did your original Flight One Software\Text-o-Matic folder contain an Aircraft Configuration folder? Bill
  19. The contents of your folders appear to be similar to mine but I notice that your Flight One Software folder is in a folder called Microsoft Games and does not appear to be in your main FSX folder. In my setup the Flight One Software folder is within my main FSX folder (D:\FS Games\FSX\Flight One Software). I'm not sure if that is causing the problem but it might be worth moving your Flight One Software folder into your main FSX folder to see if that helps. Bill
  20. Hi, that is very unfortunate and I cannot think of much else to suggest that might help as it seems like Text-o-Matic cannot find your templates folder. Could I ask where is your templates folder installed? My templates folder is in D:\FS Games\FSX\Flight One Software\Text-o-Matic. Perhaps your templates folder is situated somewhere else and that is why Text-o-Matic cannot find it? Also does the Flight1 ATR-72 show up in the aircraft selection menu when FSX is running? Bill
  21. Hi, My version of Text-o-matic came with the original ATR-72 when I purchased it and I did not get it from another site, as you have done, but I am not sure if that could be causing the problem. Does your original ATR download not include Text-o-matic? Basically if the livery is installed using Text-o-matic, unzip the texture files (usually bmps) into the Text-o-matic/Templates folder and then follow each step in the Text-o-matic Start Wizard in turn. When you double-click the icon beside 'Template', then the Text-o-matic/Templates folder should open and you can select the relevant bmp file. The rest of the steps in the wizard are straightforward - For 'Aircraft Variation' I just type in the airline; for 'Texture folder' I enter the extension (Texture.xxxxxx) that will be used to identify it in the aircraft.cfg; and then enter the tail number and callsign for the next 2 steps. Some liveries do not use Text-o-matic and then you simply add the texture folder to the ATR-72 folder and copy the relevant cfg text as the next entry in the aircraft.cfg. I have not installed a livery to the ATR for many years, but just to ensure that everything still works, I downloaded the Golden Air livery from the Flight1 site tonight and installed it using Text-o-matic. Everything works perfectly and it is visible in FSX! Hope this helps! Bill
  22. My version of Text-o-Matic is also 1.2 and it functions without any problems. Have you done a fresh download of the software from the vendor and tried installing that? Bill
  23. Welcome! Still happily flying FSX too! If you need any help, the FSX Forum on here still comes to life fairly frequently!! Bill
  24. Bonjour, it might be worth uninstalling the ATR and Text-o-matic again (ensure all elements of it have been uninstalled), then redownload a fresh version of the Flight1 ATR 72 (in case the previous download had become corrupted in some way). Then try another reinstall of the ATR and Text-o-matic by right clicking on the exe file and selecting 'Run as administrator'. Hope that helps you! Cheers, Bill PS Remember to translate to English before you post here!
  25. Hi, Is this the only livery you tried to install or have you added any other textures to the Flight One ATR 72-500 using Text-o-Matic and did they install without any problem? I have the Air France Hop texture on the F1 ATR 72 and that installed on the ATR using Text-o-Matic without any problems. Bill
